West Ham player ratings: Swansea (A)

West Ham player ratings: Swansea (A) West Ham’s poor form continued as the Hammers suffered a hammering defeat on the road to relegation-threatened Swansea City. Carlos Carvahal’s side have seen an up-turn in form since the Portuguese boss was appointed as manager, and that form continued against David Moyes’ side. Goals from Ki Sung-yueng, Mike van der Hoorn, Andy King and Jordan Ayew put the Hammers to the sword in a performance David Moyes called “Impossible to assess” and “Embarrassing”. West Ham also suffered a blow, with Winston Reid being taken off in the first half on a stretcher, with what looks to be a serious injury. Michail Antonio scored a consolation goal for West Ham, but it was no use as the Hammers slipped to fourteenth in the Premier League table. The result leaves West Ham only 3 points off the relegation zone, whilst Swansea move above them on goal difference, with Carlos Carvahal leading a revival for the Swans since his appointment. Here’s how we rated the performance of the West Ham players, after another disappointing defeat on the road for the Hammers.

Christopher Eccleston has rarely been diplomatic in discussing why he took roles in blockbuster comic book movies like G . I . Joe or Thor: The Dark World. Makes it a lot more understandable as to why he wouldn’t return for Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary, really.

In a fascinating new interview with The Guardian, Christopher Eccleston has been recalling his ventures into Hollywood movies, and the fun that he didn’t have making them.

“And Thor? Just a gun in your mouth”, he added. This refers to his role in Thor: The Dark World, a performance I interviewed him for at a press junket and got told off by the publicist in the room whenever I veered towards questions she didn’t like. Pub chat, that.

Pordenone President confirms West Ham's interest in Meneghetti

Pordenone President confirms West Ham's interest in Meneghetti Mauro Lovisa, the club president of Serie C side Pordenone has confirmed that West Ham are interested in signing goalkeeper Marco Meneghetti from the Italian club. The 17-year-old, who broke into the Pordenone first team earlier this year, was linked with a move to West Ham at the weekend and Lovisa has confirmed that there is more to the links than just paper talk. Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Lovisa confirmed that West Ham have made an approach for Meneghetti but also said that Inter Milan are also keeping a close eye on him. “Marco Meneghetti is in the sights of the Hammers. I have the official e-mail from the British club. The fact is that Marco also interests Inter.” Aged 17, it would be highly unlikely that Meneghetti signed at West Ham as a first team player but with Adrian’s future still uncertain and with Joe Hart unlikely to make his loan move a permanent deal, it makes sense for the Hammers to be keeping their options open. If he does sign for the Hammers, Meneghetti would likely go into the academy structure for at least a year.
