The midfielder is thought to be well aware of interest from around Europe but has never hidden his intentions to stay at Anfield for the long-term.

Lallana has two years remaining on his contract and is ready to open talks with the club about a proposed extension.

The report suggests that qualification for the UEFA Champions League could play the pivotal role in whether or not the former Southampton man decides to renew his current deal.

Evra keen on Man United return

Evra keen on Man United return Patrice Evra is considering a return to Manchester United and ending his career at Old Trafford, according to The Times. The 35-year-old Frenchman left United for Juventus in the summer of 2014 after a stellar eight-year spell in Manchester, where he won five Premier League titles, three League Cups and a Champions League medal. He has since helped the Bianconeri win back-to-back Serie A titles and reach the 2015 Champions League final, but has lost his place in Max Allegri’s side to Alex Sandro. This season, Evra has only started nine games in all competitions, with the majority of them coming in the Champions League. And according to the paper, the former French international has told close friends that he would have no hesitation accepting an offer from the Reds should they come calling in the January transfer window. Despite Evra’s advancing years, he could yet be a useful signing for José Mourinho given United’s troubles at left-back this season. Luke Shaw has yet to earn Mourinho’s faith after a lean run, while the alternatives to the 21-year-old have not impressed either. Marcos Rojo has now nailed down a first-team spot at centre-back after impressing alongside Phil Jones; Daley Blind’s form has been topsy-turvy and right-back Matteo Darmian has looked uncomfortable in an unfamiliar position. Evra’s former United teammate Rio Ferdinand added fuel to the fire with a Instagram post addressing the rumours: Evra made 379 appearances and scored ten times during his stint at Old Trafford, becoming a popular figure among his team-mates and the club’s fans due to his passion for United and his jovial nature.

TOP STORY: Lallana wanted by Barca, Juventus . Liverpool's Adam Lallana is a transfer target for European powerhouses Barcelona and Juventus , according to a report in The Times. The newspaper reports that the Spanish and Italian giants want to rival French champions Paris Saint-Germain for the England midfielder, who is yet to begin talks over a new contract. Walter Mazzarri is keen to bring his countryman to Vicarage Road in order to stave off their slump toward the relegation zone.

However, some altruistic foreign monied fancypants clubs might be about to step up and lighten their boo-load. For according to the Times, Juventus and Barcelona have joined PSG in taking a serious sniff around Adam Lallana , a man whose form this season has been as impressive as his commitment to fashionably ripped jeans. They are set to up their bid for Robert Snodgrass too, plus they’re also keen on Southampton’s José Fonte, Milan’s M’Baye Niang and basically just about anyone who is an upgrade on Simone Zaza.

The 28-year-old has scored seven goals this season and has set up a further seven for his teammates.

He has been in fantastic form this season playing in a midfield role and Klopp will be keen to tie him down to a new deal.

Berbatov would consider Newcastle switch .
Dimitar Berbatov has refused to rule out the possibility of a move to Newcastle United this month. Berbatov, as quoted by talkSPORT, spoke of the prospect of a return to English football in the near future and was coy when asked if Newcastle would be a potential destination for him. “Everything is possible, just to smell the grass one more time, especially in England.” The Bulgarian, who enjoyed a massively successful spell with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United during his time in England, along with a stint at Fulham, is keen to get back into playing football soon after his release from Greek side PAOK. Berbatov is claimed in the report to have grown up as a fan of The Magpies, with Alan Shearer being his idol, sparking the initial question of whether a move could indeed be on the cards. The former Monaco man is 36-years-old but is certainly keen to keep the ball rolling and get back to work, with a move back to England certainly seeming to be the ideal for him. The Chronicle report that Berbatov idolises Newcastle legend Alan Shearer and that he used to sleep in a Newcastle ‘9’ shirt. “Alan Shearer was a hero, still he is a hero of mine, the way he scored the goals and put his hands out, that’s what I used to do when I scored as a tribute to him, just trying to imitate your childhood hero.
