While many fans are wringing their hands over the status of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez’s contract extensions , news broke today that Arsenal has tied down Olivier Giroud and Francis Coquelin to new deals . Giroud was rumored to be returning to France in his near future, perhaps to Marseille, but that rumor was quickly shot down with this news. However, the club didn’t stop there as Laurent Koscielny is apparently in advanced talks to extend his deal as well.

Arsenal have been handed a huge boost with reports that Olivier Giroud , Laurent Koscielny and Francis Coquelin are all set to extend their current deals . French outlet RMC Sport report that Giroud has agreed a new deal that will keep him at the club until June 2019 while Coquelin has agreed a two-year extension that runs until 2021. The duo are also set to be joined by captain Laurent Koscielny who will extend his current deal through to 2020.

Olivier Giroud, Laurent Koscielny and Francis Coquelin have all agreed new contracts with Arsenal, the club announced on Thursday.

Giroud's contract was set to expire in June 2018, while Koscielny and Coquelin were originally tied to the club for a further year, but all three have signed new "long-term contracts".

Manager Arsene Wenger said in a statement: "We are very pleased that three important members of our team have committed to us for the long term.

"Francis has made tremendous technical strides over the past few years because he's so focused every day.

With Per Mertesacker’s contract up at the end of the season, there’s every chance he’ll be promoted to captain and, this time, I don’t see our skipper leaving.

Koscielny has made 273 appearances since arriving from Lorient in 2010, while Coquelin has made 131 senior outings for the club.

While Arsenal will be delighted to have agreed new contracts with the French trio, uncertainty still remains over the futures of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

Ozil and Sanchez's deal will expire at the end of next season, and Wenger will likely focus his attention on tying them down long term.
