LaVar Ball: 'I don't need no advice from Kobe Bryant'

"I don't need advice from Kobe Bryant. 'Zo's got to play his game."If they're at practice and he sees something and Lonzo listens to him or whatever, he's good. ... But it's just not, 'OK, I'm talking to Kobe, so now I'm going to be good.' If Kobe sees something that 'Zo is doing, then go from there.

The Lakers new boss Magic Johnson took in a UCLA game to watch Lonzo Ball beat the Trojans, but would they want to draft Lonzo Ball if he comes with his dad, LaVar Ball ? LaVar would want to do all the talking. Maybe Lonzo’ s coach Steve Alford asked him to stay home?

Lonzo Ball has a chance to be a franchise-changing player, especially for a team like the Los Angeles Lakers who could use him to run their team and change the culture around them as he would bring a certain interest and cache to the franchise that very few players can.

The questions though keep coming up about his father, LaVar Ball, especially after he was seen "threatening" Fox Sports' Kristine Leahy on live radio Wednesday.

So it's only natural for teams to vet LaVar Ball as well as his son Lonzo, and how LaVar was involved in and around the UCLA program when his son was with the Bruins.

Dan Patrick asked Los Angeles Lakers' head coach Luke Walton just that on his show Friday morning.

Luke Walton said Lonzo Ball was "good" after seeing him score 19 points in UCLA ' s win over Washington on Thurs. Ball has also already been linked to the Lakers with his father, LaVar Ball , making claims that his son will only play for the storied franchise.

"Would you ask somebody about LaVar Ball's involvement at UCA in regards to Lonzo Ball?" Patrick asked. "Would you ask Steve Alford about that?"

"I wouldn't personally," Walton said. "But yes, someone in our organization will."

Lakers' president Magic Johnson already went on record stating that LaVar Ball would not weigh into their decision to draft Lonzo, but he said that more than a week ago, and things have obviously come out since then.

So it begs the question, with the new information coming to light, will it change how the Lakers approach their draft? Will LaVar Ball hurt his son's draft stock?

I’m not saying the Lakers should pass on Ball for another player. But we’re at the point where De'Aaron Fox, Jayson Tatum, Josh Jackson, Kristine Leahy, LaVar Ball , Lonzo Ball , Luke Walton Steve Alford Should End LaVar Ball Circus, Tell Him LiAngelo and LaMelo Aren't Playing at UCLA .

That remains to be seen, and at this point Luke Walton is far more concerned with something else.

"Right now I'm not concerned at all," he said. "I'm mostly concerned with what player can help us win more than 26 games."

LaVar Ball is basketball's Kris Jenner according to Magic Johnson .
There is absolutley nothing wrong with being proud of your children and bragging about them to other people, and LaVar Ball will be the first one to brag about his son Lonzo.Magic Johnson has seen the repeated prognosticating of Ball and likened his bloviating to that of the mother of the Kardashians, Kris Jenner.“The Kardashians, we didn’t say that the mom [Jenner] was bad, and she made them a lot of money, right? She’s bragged on her daughters, and I think it’s the same here,” said in an interview on ESPN Radio Wednesday. “He’s saying, ‘Hey, my son is great,’ and there’s nothing bad with that.
