Spurs monitoring West Ham's move for Hernandez

Spurs monitoring West Ham's move for Hernandez West Ham have seemingly put all their eggs in the Javier Hernandez basket, much like they did last summer with Carlos Bacca. The Hammers are willing to meet the player’s £13m release clause but wage demands in excess of £140,000-a-week are holding up the deal for the time being. If the club were to bring in the former Manchester United striker he could become the club’s top earner by some distance, but West Ham are aware that they need to pay the top players top dollar to bring them to the London Stadium. The Mirror have noted that the Hammers have been presented with another stumbling block in their pursuit of Hernandez as Tottenham are monitoring the situation ahead of a bid. Tottenham are underwhelmed by Vincent Janssen and would like to swap him out for a more reliable backup to Harry Kane and Hernandez, a proven goalscorer at this level, is seen as a potential signing. West Ham have already missed out on Henry Onyekuru and Olivier Giroud this summer, and if they fail to bring in Hernandez that would be another crushing blow to the club’s summer transfer activity.
