'Dyche won't get top-four chance'

'Dyche won't get top-four chance' Sean Dyche has more chance of managing England than a top-four club who will not give him the opportunity to prove himself, says Ian Wright. The Burnley manager has guided his side to sixth spot in the Premier League, taking 12 points from seven games - one point behind Chelsea and Arsenal - and beat Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday. But despite improving Burnley year-on-year in the top flight, former striker Wright does not think he would ever be given a job at a top club because they will not "give him a chance", but could manage the England national team.

Although he wouldn’t be viewed as a particularly exotic or exciting appointment, Dyche would offer sustainability, honesty and graft. Again, the former England manager may not an appointment to set the pulses racing, but Oct 3, 2017. Read more. West Ham’s Full-back Balance Could Save Bilić .

Burnley boss Sean Dyche is good enough to manage England in the future, according to his West Ham counterpart Slaven Bilic.

Dyche has guided Burnley to sixth place in the Premier League after claiming points off the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool at the start of the new season.

The Hammers travel to Turf Moor on Saturday in search of their first away win of the campaign and Bilic admits the Clarets' strong start to the campaign has taken him by surprise.

Ian Wright backs Sean Dyche to succeed Arsene Wenger at Arsenal

Ian Wright backs Sean Dyche to succeed Arsene Wenger at Arsenal Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has backed Burnley boss Sean Dyche to succeed Arsene Wenger at the Gunners when the Frenchman finally leaves the club. Dyche, 46, has been at Burnley since 2012 and has guided them to two promotions in that time, despite having a relatively small budget. The Lancashire side were relegated with Dyche in charge but the board stuck by him and he rewarded their faith with another promotion before guiding the Clarets to safety. Burnley’s form this season has been outstanding and they sit in sixth place in the Premier League, having picked up wins away to Chelsea and Everton and draws away to Tottenham and Liverpool. Whilst appearing on BBC Radio, Wright was asked if Dyche would be a suitable replacement for Wenger when he leaves. He replied: “Yeah. The fact is would they give Sean Dyche that job? In respect to how his team sets up when they’re defending, he’s obviously got acumen – but will he get a job like that? I don’t think he will.” Wright went on to explain that the Burnley boss is probably going to be tipped to be the next England manager. “They’ll probably start touting him for the England job. We’re so bereft of any manager that’s good enough, that can take on the England job. If he carries on like he is he’ll probably be pushed into that role.

Burnley defender Michael Duff believes Clarets boss Sean Dyche could one day manage England . I've learned a lot from him, little things he does, and I think he will go on to be a top manager .” Duff also has hopes of following Dyche into management after retirement.

"He's definitely a good manager. Does their start surprise me? Yes, it did, especially their away form because last year they waited until March or whenever to beat Palace away and get that first away win," said Bilic.

"If you ask which team has beat Chelsea and Everton and drew against Spurs and Liverpool and didn't know it was them, you would say Manchester United and not Burnley.

"It's a big achievement and it did surprise me, but they now have experience of the Premier League and have confidence and play with more bravery and more freedom when they have the ball, but they didn't lose the steeliness and compactness that is still the core of their philosophy.

"They are a very good team and all the credit goes to Sean Dyche."

When asked if Dyche could become England manager in the future, Bilic added: "Why not, definitely.

"It is always good for the national team to have a domestic manager. It is not a club - you have to understand the whole nation and the culture, the history, the legacy, the expectations.

"He is definitely one of them that has it. He is young, he looks strong and he's got that voice! I'm joking, but he is doing a really good job.

"Last year his success was a bit underrated and he is still at Burnley, which makes it easier in a daily job because you can afford some bad games.

"But on the other hand it makes it harder to get that ultimate recognition."
