Chelsea face increased competition for Godfred Donsah

Chelsea face increased competition for Godfred Donsah Chelsea are listed among a host of suitors for highly-rated Bologna midfielder Godfred Donsah, but his agent believes that his transfer value has risen since the summer. The 21-year-old moved to Serie A in January 2012 when he left Ghanaian side DC United to join the Palermo youth ranks and he’s developed into one of Serie A’s finest young talents. Capped four times by the Ghana U20 side, Donsah has been linked with the likes of Manchester United, Juventus, Arsenal and Everton in recent times, but the midfielder’s agent has hinted that a January transfer to Inter Milan is a possibility. “Yes, I think it’s possible. Inter is a great club, and would be an important opportunity for him. Inter is a top club and everyone aspires to play in such a prestigious team.” Donsah has made five appearances in Serie A this season but back in the summer he was close to a move to Roma before Bologna blocked the transfer. “Was he close to Roma this summer? I can confirm it. Bologna considered him to be untouchable, and maybe the Giallorossi weren’t able to make an offer that could change their minds.” “Now I’m certain that if Inter were 100% convinced of registering him, they’d be able to reach an agreement with him.” “Sabatini? Yes, he likes him a lot, he brought Afriyie Acquah to Palermo and also showed interest in Godfred. And Spalletti likes him, too.” “This summer his price was around the €8-10 million mark, but now the price of a transfer may have increased, who knows.” Chelsea spent big on bringing in two central midfielders in the summer in Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater but Donsah could be another talented young player the Blues could groom.

Conte confirms Chelsea tried to sign Radja Nainggolan .
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has confirmed that the club did make an attempt to sign Radja Nainggolan from Roma. As quoted by the Telegraph, Blues boss Conte previewed his side’s clash against Roma in the Champions League on Wednesday night, and discussed Nainggolan. “In the past, yes, we tried to buy him. But now Nainggolan is Roma’s player and I have great respect for him and for Roma, and also for my players.” “He’s a really good player. For me, one of the best midfielders. But he’s an opponent.” The Belgian international has established himself as one of Serie A’s best midfielders in recent years, and is continuing to attract interest from clubs across the continent. It’s stated in the report that the sticking point in Chelsea’s pursuit of Nainggolan back in 2016 was the fee that the club were willing to spend on the former Cagliari man. According to the Telegraph, the Blues made two separate offers worth £23 million and £25 million, both of which were knocked back by Roma, who value Nainggolan highly. Conte will be hoping that the Blues’ failure to land Nainggolan will not come back to bite them when they take on Roma on Wednesday.
