With a potential meeting between the two unbeaten heavyweights likely to take place in 2018, many in the boxing world feel "AJ" will end up being the winner.

Wilder 'declares war' on Joshua after demolishing Stiverne in title defence

Wilder 'declares war' on Joshua after demolishing Stiverne in title defence Undefeated WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has thrown down the gauntlet to Anthony Joshua after devastating Bermane Stiverne in a mandatory defence of his title. After knocking his opponent out in a brutal first round at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, the US boxer called out to his British rival: “I declare war on you. Do you accept my challenge?”There appeared to be no contest between Wilder, who is unbeaten in his professional career, and Stiverne, who was sent crashing to the canvas three times before the referee called time on Saturday’s fight in the first round.

Anthony Joshua has limited head movement, as commentator Paulie Malignaggi observed during Joshua ’s bout against Eric Molina. If Deontay Wilder ’s right hand has healed, and if Joshua doesn’t give his opponent enough looks, AJ can be timed, caught flush, and sent to the canvas.

This is partly because the Briton has faced superior opposition throughout his career while many would consider him the better boxer, despite lacking the power of Wilder.

However, Malignaggi, who cannot predict a winner just yet, believes Joshua has a tendency not to move his head a lot during a fight, which can be exploited by the "Bronze Bomber".

"Deontay has a great jab and great straight right hand," Malignaggi told ThaBoxingVoice.

"Straight punches are his best asset and Anthony Joshua does not move his head. So you know, a guy who doesn't move his head is susceptible to getting hit down the middle with straight shots. And those are Deontay's best punches."

The Brooklyn native is nonetheless excited about the possibility of such a match-up and thinks it will happen soon as the demand for the fight keeps rising.

Anthony Joshua tells Deontay Wilder the pair will fight on 'my terms'

Anthony Joshua tells Deontay Wilder the pair will fight on 'my terms' Anthony Joshua has warned Deontay Wilder they will fight on “my terms” after revealing Eddie Hearn will make an offer to the WBC heavyweight champion. The 28-year-old Joshua, who defeated Carlos Takam by TKO to retain his world heavyweight titles last month, insists potential opponents only talk of fighting him without making an official approach. Most recently Wilder accused Joshua’s promoter Hearn of delaying negotiations regarding a potential match-up and WBO champion Joseph Parker described him as his “preferred option”.
