Courtois admits he wants to return to Madrid one day

Courtois admits he wants to return to Madrid one day Thibaut Courtois’ future at Chelsea continues to come under scrutiny following the Belgian’s recent comments about his desire to return to Madrid one day. The towering goalkeeper enjoyed a hugely successful loan tenure with Atletico Madrid before he returned to Chelsea to replace the departing Petr Cech, and it seems he is keen to make the switch back to Spain in the not so distant future. Courtois has not been in good form of late and had a torrid time in Chelsea’s recent two outings against Bournemouth and Watford. As quoted by Sky Sports, Courtois addressed the recent rumours linking him with a move to Real Madrid, as the La Liga giants continue to scout replacements for Keylor Navas. “My personal situation is related to the city of Madrid. My two children live there with their mum. I have my daughter every day on FaceTime. She often tells me that she misses me. My son is still too small to communicate like that.” “Whenever I have the opportunity, I try to return to Spain. As a situation, it is not always easy. Yes, my heart is in Madrid. It is logical and understandable.” “If they want me, they have to contact Chelsea. We’ll see. But they have not done that. What is certain is that one day I will return to Madrid. I love Spain, I love the city, I spent three wonderful years there [with Atletico Madrid]. It is there that I became an adult.

Liverpool are expected to allow West Brom loanee Daniel Sturridge to leave the club permanently in the summer which would leave them light in attack and Werner is a personal favourite of Jurgen Klopp’s.

Neither Danny Ings or Dominic Solanke have proven to be capable stand-ins for Roberto Firmino up front and Werner would give Liverpool another top-quality option in attack next season, should they be able to beat Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid to his signature.

Werner interested in United move .
RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner has admitted he would love to play in the Premier League – specifically for either Manchester United or City. The Mirror reports that Werner told Sport1 he would like to test himself in England or Spain in the future. “It would be a lie to say in England you’d not like to play for Manchester United or Manchester City. Spain – Barca or Real. There are great clubs in every league. Italy or France would not be my leagues, but the other three. There are so many clubs you’d like to play for. I don’t want to tie myself down.” Werner has been a crucial figure in Leipzig’s rise in the Bundesliga, with the free-scoring striker firing them into Champions League last season. This season Werner has netted 10 times in 20 Bundesliga appearances, with Leipzig locked in a battle for second place with the likes of Schalke and Borussia Dortmund. The German has attracted plenty of interest in the past with Bayern and Real Madrid linked with moves for the forward. At the age of just 21, Werner is seen as one of the up and coming young forward. He will be hoping that he can continue his fine form and earn a place in the German national team squad this summer.
