Liverpool leading three-team race for Deportivo starlet Pinchi

Liverpool leading three-team race for Deportivo starlet Pinchi Having lost Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in the January transfer window, you could argue that Liverpool are short of options in the wide areas in attack and the Reds have been linked with a move for Deportivo youngster Pinchi. The 22-year-old is yet to make his debut for the senior Deportivo side in La Liga but is the star man of their B team competing in the Segunda División B Group 1 in Spain’s third tier. Pinchi is a native of A Coruna and came through the ranks at Deportivo, but his form this season, netting six goals in 22 appearances thus far, has alerted a number of top European clubs, with considerable interest coming from the Premier League. His contract with Deportivo expires in the summer and the rapid winger is a reported target for Liverpool, according to the Guardian, who note the Reds have moved ahead of Manchester United and Tottenham in the race to secure his signature.

There were reports that Butland was ready to force through a move to Liverpool, but that appears to be far from the case.

Speaking to The Mirror, Lambert said this:

“I only heard about the story this morning and that Jack had quashed the rumours. Butland is one of the best goalkeepers going around, in Europe terms as well. Without a doubt the boy’s a terrific goalkeeper, a good lad as well.”

“Does it surprise me that rumours fly about? Not really, because rumours fly about all good players and he’s one of the best.”

“He’s too good a guy, too good a pro to be affected by any talk. He’s been terrific since I’ve been here and as a person he’s been great too.”

Liverpool announce signing of Anderson Arroyo .
Liverpool have announced the signing 18-year old defender Anderson Arroyo. The Colombian signed from Fortaleza C.E.I.F, a club in his native country, however, Liverpool fans won’t see him anytime in the near future as he’s been sent on loan to Real Mallorca for 18 months, due to work permit issues. Arroyo made his debut for Fortaleza at 15 and has spent most of his career playing on the right side of defence, although he is left-footed. Liverpool have bought 100% of his playing rights, but have had to loan him out as he isn’t eligible for a work permit at this time. Mallorca gave the teenager a trial in a hope of signing him on a permanent deal but the player has decided to put pen to paper on a deal with Liverpool, so the Segunda B side will be happy to have him on loan for the remainder of the current season as well as the full campaign next year.
