Kristoffer Ajer: I'm still trying to learn the words to Celtic songs!

Kristoffer Ajer: I'm still trying to learn the words to Celtic songs! Defender Kristoffer Ajer has admitted that he’s still trying to learn the words to the songs that the Celtic fans sing on match days. Ajer, who sat in the away end at Ibrox with the Celtic supporters back in September, admitted that he couldn’t join in with the singing as he didn’t know the words. He told the Glasgow Evening Times: “I travelled [to Ibrox] the last time but I wasn’t in the squad. I sat in with the Celtic fans and it was a good experience. We won 2-0, it was a good result – but I wasn’t singing. I am still trying to learn the songs!” Ajer is expected to be on the field, not in the stands, this weekend when Celtic travel to Ibrox to face Rangers in the Glasgow Derby. He said that the game will not be easy and that the visitors need to have the right mentality going into the game. “You need to have the right mentality to play in those games. You need to be focused. You need to focus on the pitch – and not everything else around it. It will be a tough match at Ibrox and it is a big game for both clubs.

Celtic centre-back Kristoffer Ajer , 19, is set to earn his international debut in the upcoming March internationals , having caught the attention of Norway manager Lars Lagerback with his recent performances according to the Daily Record.

NORWAY boss Lars Lagerback has revealed he is set to hand Celtic kid Kristoffer Ajer his first cap two years earlier than when he picked Zlatan Ibrahimovic for his international debut. Ajer earned rave reviews for his recent Old Firm display. And he’s set to be named in the Norway squad for their

Ajer could face Celtic teammate Tom Rogic in the Australia game, which will take place at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo.

Ajer had to go out on loan to Kilmarnock for the second half of the last season to get regular game time and he didn’t start this current campaign as part of Brendan Rodgers first choice defence but a combination of poor performances by others and his own impressive displays mean he is now firmly part of the first team.

Kristoffer Ajer earns incredible praise from Norway Coach .
After giving Kristoffer Ajer his first international call-up, Norway head coach Lars Lagerback believes that the youngster can be a mainstay in the national side for the next 15 years. As quoted by The Daily Record, Lagerback has thrown praise on his young shoulders but also says the defender should be less ‘high risk’ with his play. “I do not know Kristoffer personally, so I’ll be a little careful – but everyone I know has been very positive about his personality. He has a lot of self-esteem, confidence and is the type of character we need to be a successful team. That is the picture I am getting and I can’t wait to get to know him more. If he really wants to, he will become a very strong player for the national team. For someone of his age to be here is unusual in itself, so he needs to keep his feet on the ground and word hard – but he has all the possibilities ahead of him. He can play for 10 or 15 years in the national team.” The 69-year-old could hand an international debut to Ajer in the upcoming friendlies against Australia and Albania. After a successful loan spell at Kilmarnock in the second half of last season, the 19-year-old has moved from a midfielder to a central defender under Brendan Rodgers and has broken into the side to make 24 appearances so far this campaign. Ajer has provided a calming influence on what has been a shaky Celtic rearguard during the year and since the turn of the year, he has been one of the first names on the team sheet as Celtic close in on their seventh league title in a row.
