Celtic will wait until the end of the season before they make a final decision on whether to make Odsonne Edouard’s loan move to the club a permanent deal.

As reported by the Daily Record, Celtic plan to wait until the summer before they make a final judgement on the 20-year-old.

Edouard is currently the talk of the Green and White parts of Glasgow after scoring the winning goal in the 3-2 win over Rangers last weekend.

According to the report, Celtic have the first refusal to sign the forward from Paris Saint-Germain for £7million, which means they are in no rush to make a decision.

£7million would make the Frenchman Celtic’s most expensive player ever, as John Hartson and Chris Sutton both hold the record in terms of Celtic’s most expensive purchases as the duo cost £6million each.

Andy Walker: Scott Sinclair should start Glasgow derby

Andy Walker: Scott Sinclair should start Glasgow derby Former Celtic striker, now TV pundit, Andy Walker, thinks that Brendan Rodgers should select Scott Sinclair for this weekend’s Glasgow derby against Rangers at Ibrox. Sinclair hasn’t been in great form this year and has found himself in and out of the side but Walker thinks his experience, combined with the fact that he’s played well in Glasgow derbies in the past, means that he should be in the starting XI this weekend. Speaking on Sky Sports, Walker said: “There are a number of injuries but I’m sure it’ll be four at the back, two midfielders, and then three behind Moussa Dembele. James Forrest is a stick-on while I would go with [Callum] McGregor behind Dembele and play Sinclair. I know Sinclair has not been as impressive as he was last season but he has done well at Ibrox, has good memories of the fixture, good experience and ability.” That would mean that Odsonne Edouard would drop to the substitutes bench and Walker thinks that would be the correct thing to do as Rangers would rather face him than Sinclair. “I don’t feel Edouard has played enough games to merit a start against Rangers, especially as Celtic know a win puts any talk of title races to bed. Sinclair has the pace which can trouble Rangers. If the Rangers lads see his name on the team sheet, they would be concerned with his pace and the fact he can create and score.

Celtics fans are being set up for great disappointment if they do not make a huge trade this offseason, but do not forget that the Celtics have always taken a long term plan, and if they are looking to make this Celtics team Hardwood Houdini 45w agoBoston Celtics Should Wait Until Summer to Trade.

Celtic loan signing Odsonne Edouard : I can't wait to face my friend Kylian Mbappe. Nothing was certain until very late so there was not much point talking to him about coming before I had signed. Celtic loan signing Odsonne Edouard wants to make the France national team.

If any other clubs make a bid for the 20-year-old, Celtic will still get the chance to pay £7million for him, time will tell if they think he’s worth breaking the club’s transfer record for.

Rogic yet to make a decision on his future .
Tom Rogic is yet to make a decision on the future of his career at Celtic, according to the Daily Record. The report claims that Rogic has not informed Celtic of his decision yet, despite his agent being in talks with the club over a new deal. His contract with Celtic expires at the end of next season, putting Celtic in a hard negotiating position if a club were to come in with an offer for him this summer. Rogic may wait until after the World Cup this summer before making a decision on his future. He is set to be a key figure for Australia in Russia and could put himself in the spotlight for a big move. Celtic are keen to keep Rogic and are working hard to tie him down to a new deal. However, interest from the Premier League could prove far too tempting for the 25-year-old.
