Harper was first hit on his right elbow by a 90 mph pitch from CC Sabathia in the fifth inning. The second HBP came in the eighth inning when he was struck on the left foot by an 89 mph pitch from Dellin Betances, which prompted Harper to exit for precautionary reasons.

Despite concerns over the beanings, Nationals manager Dave Martinez said Harper is expected to be back in the lineup Wednesday as the team closes out the two-game series.
