Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Tottenham’s Victor Wanyama this transfer window, according to Sport Witness.

Dortmund are keen to strengthen their squad this summer after only finishing fourth in the Bundesliga last season, a staggering 29 points behind champions Bayern Munich.

Lucien Favre has been appointed Dortmund’s new manager following Thomas Tuchel’s departure for Paris Saint-Germain and he is keen to strengthen his midfield options in particular.

The German outfit have already secured the signature of Thomas Delaney from Werder Bremen and is now looking to partner him with Wanyama.

Borussia Dortmund make enquiries about Moussa Dembele

Borussia Dortmund make enquiries about Moussa Dembele Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund have made multiple enquiries about the availability of Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, according to a report from France, as translated by Sport Witness. Dembele’s future at Celtic has been in question since last summer and after the Scottish champions completed the transfer of Odsonne Edouard, speculation about a possible move has resurfaced. Dortmund had Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi on loan for the second half of last season and the Belgian initially had a very good time in Germany, scoring nine goals in 14 games, before his season was ended prematurely due to an ankle injury. Dortmund would like to keep Batshuayi on a permanent basis but Chelsea’s reported £50m asking price is a stumbling block and as such, they are looking at alternatives. Whilst Celtic would still demand a fee in excess of the record amount they received when they sold Victor Wanyama to Southampton, the likely asking price for Dembele will still be significantly less than what Chelsea are asking for Batshuayi, as such Dortmund could decide to make a move for the two time treble winner.

Borussia Dortmund face an overhaul of their squad this summer and CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke wants to add a player like Xabi Alonso. Borussia Dortmund May 22, 2018 Stephan Uersfeld.

Want to watch this again later? TOTTENHAM midfielder Victor Wanyama will miss Saturday's Premier League trip to Everton and his team's first Champions League game of the season against Borussia Dortmund next week with a knee injury, his club said.

Wanyama has somewhat fallen out of favour at Tottenham and a deal to take the 26-year-old to Germany could be on the cards.

Wanyama spent a large proportion of last season on the sidelines after injuring his knee in the August and not playing again until the January.

Newcastle make enquiry over deal for Borussia Dortmund star .
According to a report from the Mirror, Newcastle United have made a ‘tentative enquiry’ to Borussia Dortmund to learn the possibility of a summer move for Mario Gotze. A host of Premier League clubs are said to be keen on Gotze, who would be open to an exit from Dortmund this summer. The Germany international struggled to make an impact with Dortmund throughout last season and it seems he is set to seek pastures new, with his future in his homeland in doubt. Arsenal are noted as potential suitors for Gotze, whilst West Ham, Leicester and Everton are also stated to have expressed an interest in landing him. The report indicates that if a summer deal for the ex-Bayern Munich star is to be tied up, a sum worth £18 million will need to be spent on the transfer. Gotze, as per the Mirror, is understood to be keen on making the move to the Premier League, having recently flirted with the prospect of a reunion with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
