Chelsea to hold Higuain talks on Wednesday

Chelsea to hold Higuain talks on Wednesday Chelsea will be holding talks with Gonzalo Higuain’s agent on Wednesday to discuss a summer deal. The London Evening Standard reports that Chelsea are due to speak to Nicolas Higuain, his brother, who also acts as his agent over a £53 million deal. A three-year deal is believed to be in place that would Higuain pocket around £127,000 a week. Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for the Juventus striker, with the Old Lady preparing to sell the forward this summer. The former Real Madrid man is looking increasingly likely to leave the club following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo. The striker is one of Juventus’ biggest earners and they hope to recoup just over £50 million from a summer sale. A move for Higuain would cast further doubts over the future of Alvaro Morata, who is believed to be a target for several sides in Italy. Milan, Inter, Napoli and Juventus have all been touted as possible destinations for the Spaniard.

Gonzalo Higuaín scored a record 36 goals in Serie A last season. Since Juventus would struggle to meet the break clause without the anticipated £105m they are demanding for Pogba, the imminent transfer indicates that José Mourinho is moving ever closer to his prime transfer target.

Juventus have reportedly made Gonzalo Higuain available for transfer following Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival at the club.

Calcio Mercato reports that the Old Lady have made up their mind and are now waiting for offers in the region of €55 million.

Ronaldo joined Juventus in a stunning €105 million move, which not only leaves them needing to raise funds but also raises doubts over the amount of game time Higuain would get next season.

Chelsea have been linked with the striker throughout the summer transfer window.

Claims in Italy have suggested that Maurizio Sarri could launch a move to bring him to Stamford Bridge, with Alvaro Morata continuing to be linked with a return to Serie A.
