According to an official press release, Srikakulam, one of the backward districts in the State, has topped the list of the Happiness Index, followed by West Godavari. Prakasam district has figured last in the list.

Chittoor, the native district of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, is in the 12th place among 13 districts in the State.

According to the survey carried out in 155 countries in the world, India's neighbours Pakistan (80), Bhutan (97), Nepal (99), Bangladesh (110) and Sri Lanka (120) have fared better in the Happiness Index.

As far as Andhra Pradesh is concerned, its happiness score is 5,368.

Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has been conducting the survey for World Happiness Index since 2012.

AP is the only State in the country which had the survey conducted to assess the happiness levels of its people, so as to modify its policies accordingly. The Chief Minister is determined to make AP the happiest State by 2029, the press release added.
