A search is underway by gardai for a missing man who was convicted last year of chopping up and dumping the remains of a Kinahan linked drug dealer.

Kenneth Brunell and two other men were convicted in May 2017 of chopping up the body Keith Ennis, 29, with a chainsaw.

Ennis' body was discovered in a canal near Amsterdam more than a week after he went missing in Rotterdam in February 2009.

While 32-year-old Brunell along with Phillip County, 35, and Barry McArdle, 32, were charged with the disposing of the body, they were cleared of murder.

A judge in the Dutch capital imposed the maximum two year sentence for the “horrific and disrespectful way in which the men handled Mr Ennis’ remains".

However, Brunell walked free from the Dutch court and didn't spend any more time in jail, as his time in custody had exceeded the sentence he was given.

Mr Brunell is now missing and was last seen at his home in Ballyfermot at 10am last Friday, May 11.

The Dubliner is described as being 6'1inches tall, with dark brown hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing a dark green coat, blue/black runners.
